har ajanabi hamen maharam dikhai deta hai
jo ab bhi teri gali gali se guzarne lagate hain

saba se karte hain gurbat-nasib zikr-e-vatan
to chashm-e-subah mein aansu ubharne lagate hain

wo jab bhi karte hain is nutq-o-lab ke bakhiyagari
faza mein aur bhi naghmay bikharne lagate hain

dar-e-qafas pe andhere ke muhar lagti hai
to "faiz" dil mein sitare utarane lagate hain
