jab sey kashmakash ik zindagi bani hey,

bheegi aankho'n mey bas gaein jaagti raatein
chaar suu meray bas ... ik khamoshi tani hey,

munjamid hogaein hein .. meri saari sochein
waqt ki soee bhi .. kaheen jaisey thami hey,

yun tu tanha hoon is Bharey majmey mey!
phir bhi dasti mujhey ... bas teri kami hey,

na koee chaara ger .. na rah-e-farar dikhta hey
aur tanhaee mey jakarti mujhey ye bey basi hey,

کسی دشمن کے سو الفاظ تکلیف نہیں دیتے 
مگر ایک دوست کی خاموشی سو آنسو دے سکتی ہے
